Art Filed: To my Inang Bayan :)

A belated happy Independence Day to my beloved Philippines!

In relation to my recent theme of feminism in history, I would like to honor the women in Philippine history. In every single account we always hear of the glorious battles that the men have won. Seldom however do we ever hear of the women who have made their significant contribution to our motherland's freedom.

I do not want to criticize on my country's history of freedom, but I'd just like to point out that I think one of the most genuine outcomes from our independence came from the helms of women. So to honor the invisible women in Philippine independence, I created this picture depicting the three women who sew the Philippine flag as it is today.

May our sovereignty and independence prosper more.

Use your freedom wisely
For lives were lost
So you may gain yours

Art Filed: Gecko fun

Just went a little crazy and thought about lizards this afternoon and I came up with this rough illustration. I had a better image in my head but wasn't able to project it properly now. Maybe in a few days it will come back to me haha.

The image kind of ended up looking like a thermal vision of a lizard :p

For now, enjoy this image but again, don't use it for your own:)

Art Filed: The Wars of the Roses

Alright, so I was just a bit inspired to draw this a few days ago. I was still inspired by the wars of the Roses that I took to illustrating my own interpretation of the "her story" point of view.

Now I know I said I wouldn't be posting for a while, but I just had to share this with you for my piece of mind and for your viewing.

You are free to scrutinize and interpret, just do not take this for your personal profit.

Art Filed: Tree-ties

Since I figure I won't be around for a while-- back to school work and all-- I would post this end of summer art work I produced. I literally drew this on the last day of my summer vacation. I hope that this picture gives you a good and relaxing sense while you look at it.

The mark of a good artist is that she can impart her thoughts and visions with clarity and discretion through her visual manifestations. I hope I achieved that at least in part with this piece. I posted the original as well as the digitally edited ones.

The picture will serve as my momentary hiatus from my blog. But I will be back :). So in a way, this is my treaty with you. Haha.

These are three versions of the picture. The first is the original sketch, the second a vividly enhanced one, and the third is the vintage version.

Take from them the message that you will, just do not take them from here ;P

Just know that they served as forms of expression for me :)
