In the scale of my life, I never really thought I'd get to say that I have a favorite place to stay at outside of home. It's sort of a get away place from all the stress and the rush of the city. The just irony is that it is within the city :)
Try and guess where this is:)
Look for it in TripAdvisory or Googlemaps so you can also enjoy and experience the one of a kind treatment me and my family got here tonight.
Tonight was an extension of my birthday celebration. Though I haven't fulfilled my fantasy birthday party yet, *here's to hoping :p* I did get one of the most treasured moments I have always wanted. I got to spend some intimate time with my family:) Needless to say this hotel did its part in making it an even more special event. We've stayed here before, and we just had to do it again! The best part about it is, not just the location, but also the amenities and the facilities. It's been around for a century yet it doesn't fail to catch up with the times while restoring its native ambiance. And me being a fan of historical things and whatnot, of course, love the place. :) From the lobby right down to the smallest detail of every room, every turn gives you a taste of Philippine history! As exciting as it is to live in modern times, I bet that people will love this place as much as I do.

And from the pool area, we go to the lobby :)

Look closely and you'll find the fine details on the cushions.
Appreciate! :)

The Family Awaits Dinner! :)) Because of excitement, we got there an hour early :))

My foolish attempt at a vanity shot |

A very interesting wall piece: a strip of native cloth behind a glass |

This wall lamp is very simple yet sophisticated. Thus, giving it elegance. :) |

Poor boredom kills |

A Pink Flower (sorry not sure) as an attention piece in the ladies' room. The bright color strikes a good contrast with the neutral pallet of the room. |

That's the Cafe we went to:) guess now you know where this is;) |

Of shoes and carpets :p |

This lovely wall makes a great replacement for a signboard. It doesn't hurt either that it's very artistic. |
Oh! And I forgot to mention my favorite, THE FOOD!
The Cafe here appears nothing special at first glance. Just another ordinary restaurant at a hotel. But in comparison to the other hotels I've stayed at locally and abroad, the food they serve here is by far a slice of heaven :) So foodies, if you're looking to spot a new place to try, I recommend the cafe in this hotel :)

Before the buffet started :) |
I didn't take a picture of my main course because, well, I was too preoccupied with savoring it.
But, here's the bread I had, with some of the most delicious cheeses I've tasted! Not to salty, nor smelly either:)
|
A soft roll, a slice of french bread, a bread stick, and some crackers with French cheese |
The theme for the night was seafood Friday! So needless to say I ate plenty of fish.
However, here are some photos of the heavenly desserts they had.
|
Creme Brulee |
|
Chocolate Ladder |
|
Orange Chocolat And I must say this comes in first for me in tonight's servings! :D |
|
Small Ube Roll One of my favorite local flavors! Only in the Philippines :) |
|
The perfect dessert dish! |
But let's not forget, because it was my birthday celebration, I got a free chocolate cake! :D Just looking at it now makes my mouth water all over again!
Oh and I had a crepe too, because I just love how they make those at this cafe:)
That's it for today's entry. I hope you enjoyed the spot and dishes I showed you. Hopefully it encourages you to visit new and interesting places. Here's a tip, try and go to places you don't normally go and try the best they have to offer. If you don't like it, go to their menu and look for the next best thing for you. If not, just try and enjoy the place. That usually helps conjure up some great perspective.
Til next entry!
